A Comprehensive Program Addressing from the Basics to Clinical Applications of Echocardiography

On July 6 (SUN), 2025, the 2025 Training Lecture of the Korean Society of Echocardiography was successfully held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju. Despite the hot and humid weather, members from all over the country willingly spared their time and attended the event. Even from the first session, it was possible to feel enthusiasm and interest of our members in the program and the lecture hall was fully filled.

The training lecture was constructed to address key aspects of echocardiography, including the assessment of left ventricular systolic and diastolic function and the analysis of regional wall motion abnormalities. It also covered echocardiographic approaches to various clinical cases commonly encountered in outpatient setting and even carotid artery evaluation. Since real clinical cases were analyzed in the lecture, it provided both theoretical and practical knowledge. The lecture was followed by discussions and Q&A sessions. They were made in a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere, so participants actively shared their clinical concerns and explored solutions.

The hands-on training program also received positive responses. In this program, each attendee was given 25 minutes of practice time, using three ultrasound machines provided by Philips and GE with professors offering one-on-one guidance to each participant. Even after the given practice time, many participants remained and engaged with great enthusiasm. It was a great opportunity for the participants, from those new to echocardiography to the experienced, to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and resolve their inquiries and issues faced in practice. The Korean Society of Echocardiography will continue to dedicate itself to advancing the competencies of its members by offering a variety of educational initiatives.
