Training Lecture

On June 29, 2025, the 20th Yeongnam Echocardiography Training Lecture was held at the Inter-Burgo Hotel in Daegu. Despite the hot weather, many private practitioners, hospital-employed doctors, and sonographers attended the event, and even a few residents who currently left the cardiology department also participated, making it the largest attendance in history. This unprecedented high rate of attendance amidst busy schedules and various issues is clear evidence that there is still a strong passion and interest in echocardiography.

The first session under the theme of ‘Getting Started with Echocardiography” began with a lecture on how to get a proper image and it was followed by lectures on ‘Assessing cardiac functions’ and ‘Abnormal cardiac walls’ and then, with sessions on ‘Valvular heart diseases’ and ‘Case-based review course. During the break between sessions, we had a meaningful ceremony for presenting plagues of appreciation to Professors Ki-sik Kim, Jae-gwan Song, and Jong-won Ha, who have greatly contributed to the Yeongnam Echocardiography Society over the past 20 years. We are truly grateful to the professors who continue to share their insights and knowledge, despite busy schedules, clinical practices, and academic activities.

For the past 20 years, the Yeongnam Echocardiography Symposium has spread knowledge and clinical practice of echocardiography among healthcare professionals in the Yeongnam region.
My first attendance at the 11th symposium in 2016 and today, even after 10 years, it is still a valuable opportunity where I gain new knowledge and come with new ideas. And the next 10 years, I have a strong belief that it will move forward to open a new chapter for academic exchange and development.
