The 2024 General Practitioners' Training Course organized by the Korean Society of Echocardiography was held on August 25, 2024, at Songdo Convensia. This was the first training course for general practitioners hosted by the society, made possible through close cooperation with the Incheon Physician's Association. It was successfully completed with great interest and participation from general practitioners and residents in Incheon.

Despite the challenging medical environment, over 200 attendees participated, and nearly all stayed until the end of the research lectures, which showed their passion for echocardiography. The lectures in the training course covered the fundamentals of echocardiography, including left ventricular assessment and valve evaluation. They also addressed echocardiographic findings commonly observed in patients presenting with clinical symptoms such as dyspnea, chest pain, and edema. Additionally, the course included differentiation and diagnosis of abnormal echocardiographic findings encountered during actual examinations, as well as discussions on treatment. Unlike in other courses, in the hands-on program for this training course, professors provided one-on-one guidance. Notably, each participant was allotted 25 minutes, so that general practitioners and residents were able to delve deeply into areas most relevant to their needs. Thanks to the detailed lectures and passionate hands-on training from the professors, we received positive feedback from many participants who expressed that the course was very beneficial.

The next training course is scheduled to be held in Busan on January 19, 2025. In this new location, we plan to expand support for strengthening the echocardiography skills of general practitioners, and we will continue to offer region-specific lectures as we tour different cities. By closely engaging with the medical community in various regions, we aim to create more opportunities for growth and collaboration.

We ask for your continued passionate participation and support, and we look forward to more learning and connections in the upcoming course. We hope for your ongoing interest and encouragement as we continue our journey.
