The 47th Korean Society of Echocardiography Workshop was held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Gachon University Gil Medical Center in Incheon. This event was particularly meaningful, as it took place at Gil Medical Center which had previously faced cancellations due to the barriers of MERS and COVID-19. The first session focused on post-procedural complications, where various case studies were discussed, including complications following TAVI, Bentall operation, pericardiocentesis, and MAZE operation.

The first session focused on post-procedural complications, where various case studies were discussed, including complications following TAVI, Bentall operation, pericardiocentesis, and MAZE operation. There was an intense and lively discussion from various perspectives. The second session presented echocardiographic cases that could potentially be misdiagnosed as other diseases, such as valvular mass lesions, cardiac masses, hereditary heart diseases misdiagnosed as SCMP, and hematologic malignancies involving the left ventricle. This session provided a precious opportunity to indirectly experience and learn about unique cases that may not have been encountered previously.

A significant innovation introduced at this workshop was the ‘Preceptor (Guardian)’ role, which facilitated a smoother understanding of the cases. The professors' wrap-up lectures at the end of each session provided a valuable time to review and solidify our understanding of the cases. While there was some regret due to the difficulties arising from medical conflicts, we hope for even greater participation in future workshops. The event concluded with hopes for an even more successful workshop next year.
