The newly introduced opening ceremony

On November 23rd and 24th, the 57th Fall Conference of the Korean Society of Echocardiography (KSE 2024) was held at Grand Walkerhill Seoul. This year’s conference commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony, setting the stage with a spectacular video. To enhance accessibility and participation, the conference venues were categorized into the Global Theater, Innovation Theater, Harmony Chamber, and Education Theater, allowing attendees to easily find sessions that aligned with their interests. Additionally, separate spaces of the Debate Chamber and Discovery Chamber provided opportunities for diverse forms of academic exchange, which was particularly impressive.

Amid the lively lecture hall & The first-ever published conference newspaper

Listening to lectures from distinguished professors from Korea and abroad always gives me invaluable insights. These sessions encourage me to reflect on whether I have overlooked anything in my practice as I treated patients daily and to think over future research directions in light of the latest developments. The Basic Review Course, which always bustles with attendees, once again lived up to expectations this year. The outstanding lectures delivered by esteemed professors received enthusiastic responses, and the venue was packed with attendees. A particularly unique session this year was < Code Blue in the Echo Lab > in which Professor Kim Kyung-il from the Department of Psychology at Ajou University talked about how we can recharge our minds amid the challenges of daily practice. The session gave me a meaningful and reflective experience.

The beer party held after the first day's sessions

Like all other conferences, this conference was not only a platform for academic exchange and knowledge updates but also an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues after a long time. In this regard, the beer party, held for the first time after the sessions on the opening day, added a delightful touch to the event. I had a truly memorable evening when I enjoyed a glass of beer and delicious pizza against the backdrop of the beautiful Han River while sharing laughter-filled conversations with fellow attendees. I am already looking forward to next year’s conference, which will surely offer another enriching program and wonderful memories.
