Successful Conclusion of the
2025 Korean Society of
Echocardiography Training Course

January 19, 2025, Lotte Hotel, Busan

Korea University College of Medicine Mi-Na Kim

The 2025 Korean Society of Echocardiography Training Course was successfully held on January 19, 2025, at Lotte Hotel Busan. This year’s course was designed for primary care physicians and echocardiography technicians and was successfully conducted in close collaboration with Busan Physicians Association.

Despite the challenging medical environment, over 300 participants attended the event, and very few left before the end of the course, showing their strong enthusiasm and engagement with echocardiography. The training course covered fundamental topics, including left ventricular function and valve assessment, as well as the echocardiographic evaluation and differential diagnosis of common clinical symptoms such as dyspnea, chest pain, and edema. Additionally, in-depth discussions were held on the interpretation of abnormal echocardiographic findings encountered in real-world practice and their corresponding treatment strategies. In particular, the hands-on program in this training course provides one-on-one instruction from professors, which is distinctive from other courses. Each participant was allocated a full 25-minute session in which they have in-depth learning tailored to their specific needs. However, due to the varying skill levels among participants, there were some challenges in maintaining a smooth workflow. To address this, future training courses will be structured according to different proficiency levels.

The next training course is scheduled for this summer in a new location. With the participation of more medical professionals, the KSE aims to expand its educational programs and support to further enhance participants' echocardiography skills and clinical expertise. The course will also incorporate customized lectures reflecting real-world medical needs, foster close communication with healthcare professionals and provide opportunities for mutual growth. We look forward to another enriching training course filled with passionate participation and meaningful connections. Your continued interest and support would be greatly appreciated.
