President of the Korean Society of Echocardiography Hae-ok Jung

Dear Esteemed Members of the Korean Society of Echocardiography
Warm greetings to you all. This is Jung Hae-ok, President of the Korean Society of Echocardiography.
With this first newsletter of 2025, I would like to extend my warm greetings to all our members.

As the season fills with the vibrant energy of spring, I sincerely wish for good health and happiness to abound in your workplaces and homes. Over the past year, thanks to your active participation and warm support, our society has achieved remarkable progress. In 2025, we aim to pursue more substantial growth through the following key initiatives:

  1. We will actively support the academic development of young researchers by expanding domestic and international academic exchanges and research funding to foster the next generation of experts.
  2. This year, we will organize the annual academic conference—which received high praise last year—in a more innovative and dynamic format, creating a vibrant platform for presentations, exchange, and discussion.
  3. Through the publication of textbooks and clinical guidelines on echocardiography, KSEchoTV on YouTube, webinars, workshops, and continuing education courses for general practitioners, we will offer a variety of educational programs that are practically beneficial for both residents and specialists in clinical settings.
  4. We will establish the vision and mission of the Korean Society of Echocardiography to clearly define the society’s purpose and future direction.
  5. We will initiate the implementation of the first-level echocardiography certification system.
  6. We will advocate for realistic reimbursement of echocardiography in severe and rare cardiovascular diseases, reflecting its critical role in clinical practice.
  7. We will continue our efforts to advance the growth of our journal, JCVI, and promote ongoing online collaboration with echocardiography societies in developing countries.

This year, our society continues to uphold the slogan: “Echo for Healthy Heart and Saving Lives.” With this spirit, we strive to develop both the expertise and public responsibility of our society in a well-balanced manner. Each and every member’s participation and feedback help shape the future of our society. We kindly ask for your continued interest and support in 2025, and we promise to remain a society that stands by your side always.

Thank you.

Jung Hae-ok,
President of the Korean Society of Echocardiography
