The Academic Director

Yonsei Univ. Geu-Ru Hong

Hello, members of the Korean Society of Echocardiography!
I am Hong Geu-ru, the Academic Director of the Korean Society of Echocardiography.

As the hot summer passes and the cool autumn breeze blows, the Korean Society of Echocardiography (KSE) is growing further thanks to the interest and participation of many members. Our society has also undergone many changes in the eventful years of 2024 and 2025, In spite of the difficult situations at home and abroad, our society continues to engage in active academic activities, leading the advancement of the field of echocardiography.

The KSE Conference, our society's most representative academic event, is growing day by day and establishing itself as a world-class academic conference beyond Korea. With over 2,000 domestic and international attendees and over 80 abstracts submitted annually, the KSE has become a truly representative conference in Asia, both quantitatively and qualitatively. In particular, leading scholars from the US, Europe, and Asia are invited to share their latest research and clinical experiences, providing a venue for in-depth discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.

Also, the programs have been refined to provide opportunities for young researchers to present their research findings and broaden the academic exchanges. We have made every effort to gain insights into the latest trends in various cardiac imaging techniques and heart diseases, and to help you further improve your clinical outcomes. Furthermore, the KSE communicates more closely with members across the country through various online and offline academic activities, such as “Webinars” and “Workshops.” Through these diverse academic programs, we provide real-time clinical information based on the latest echocardiographic techniques and case studies, offering our members opportunities to expand their academic knowledge anytime and anywhere.

The Korean Society of Echocardiography (KSE) continuously supports the growth of its members and strives for the academic advancement of echocardiography. Academic committee members and I will prepare diverse programs to ensure that these academic activities provide practical support to your research and clinical practice. We also plan to actively support the practical application of new research findings and techniques in clinical settings. I sincerely hope that an academic journey with our members will continue to flourish, and I ask for your active participation in the ongoing growth and development of the KSE.

Thank you.
