At the end of September, the "Heart Day" event was held successfully at Seoul Olympic Park under the clear autumn sky. This event, held annually on September 29 as part of the ‘World Heart Day’ campaign, is hosted by the Korean Society of Cardiology, with the participation of several related academic societies, including the Korean Society of Echocardiography (KSE) to raise awareness of the importance of preventing cardiovascular disease and to share healthy lifestyle habits that citizens can practice in their daily lives. On this fall weekend, citizens of all ages, including families, young office workers, and senior citizens with friends visited the event, adding to the lively atmosphere. Various experience and promotion booths related to heart health were operated at the site. The KSE promotion booth held a KSE YouTube subscription event, along with a ‘dart throwing event’ and a ‘photo booth’, creating happy time for everyone of all ages. While enjoying darts and waiting in line, the participants were able to watch YouTube videos produced with the talent donations of various KSE members, and then took pictures with family, friends, and loved ones in the photo booth to make happy memories. About 500 citizens visited the booth, and the souvenirs we had prepared were all sold out before the event ended, which was a great response, giving a sense of accomplishment to the KSE that prepared the event. The official slogan for this year's World Heart Day is "Don't Miss a Beat." I hope this event served as an opportunity for many citizens to reflect on the value of small actions for a healthy heart.
