KSE 2025: ‘Beyond Echo, Imaging Tomorrow’
Yonsei Univ. Iksung Cho
The Korean Society of Echocardiography (KSE) has prepared KSE 2025 as a venue to share latest views and research findings on various diseases mainly with cardiac imaging, broaden clinical insights, and suggest future research directions. The KSE also aims to envision a new era through communication with society and exchanges with future generations. Here are three key points to note at KSE 2025.
① Clinical Language Beyond Imaging Echocardiography is no longer just imaging. KSE 2025, in collaboration with leading scholars from around the world, will present how echocardiography can be used as a game-changer of clinical judgment in major diseases. With the advent of groundbreaking treatments for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, amyloidosis, and pulmonary hypertension, it demonstrates that cardiac imaging is a compass for establishing treatment strategies in major diseases where the treatment paradigm is changing. In addition, the Cardio-Oncology session will introduce strategies for early diagnosis and management of cardiotoxicity of the latest anticancer treatments through imaging.
② Stage for New Generations, New Wave Hub New Wave Hub, another experiment of KSE 2025, is a space where young researchers can ask new questions in a free atmosphere. Breaking away from the traditional classroom framework, it is an open structure with booths and lecture halls, and active exchanges take place along with various programs prepared by the HIT (Hear Imagers of Tomorrow) Committee. In this place, HIT-Joint Sessions and oral and case presentations are held, emphasizing passion over formality and collaboration over competition. It is a venue where you can feel the energy and creativity of young researchers who will lead the future of the KSE.
③ Listen to Voice of Mind beyond Heart In the special session, “Echo from the Heart: Beyond Imaging, Listening to Every Heart,” participants will listen to the hearts of people and society beyond the structure of the heart. Under the topic of "Conversing with the World: Communication between Doctors and Society", Professor Kim Hyun-chul, a doctor and economist, will provide a new perspective on the social and structural problems we face in the medical field and our responsibilities. Next, announcer Han Seok-jun will discuss the importance of relationships and communication in hospitals through "Speaking that Resonates with the Heart - Communicating with Those Around You." This will be a meaningful time in which the perspectives of two different worlds meet, allowing us to reflect on the hearts and languages of medical professionals.
After all sessions end, a Beer Party will be held in the Vista Hall Lounge at 4:30 PM with jazz music and a sunset over the Han River. This will be a time to connect people, generations, and Korea with the world beyond academics. We invite everyone participating in KSE 2025 to this special event.
